Today started out pretty badly, but has been getting steadily better. I got up at 7 (thank you Daylight Savings Time), and started in on the project proposal that is due tonight in class. Surprisingly it took almost no time to finish. By 8:30 I was finished - and slightly confused. This whole time change thing makes me feel like I get things accomplished.

Anyhow, I called Canon because my camera (Powershot A60) has been recalled - err... umm, excuse me, it has been called in for servicing. Canon wants to make it clear that it is not recalling any of its cameras. I basically told the guy on the phone that what he said was the most retarded thing I had ever heard. Anyhow - the service call back whatever is in regards to the problems that I'd been having in the first place, so Canon will be sending me a postage sticker so that I can mail my camera in to be fixed at no charge to me (though the guy made sure to tell me that I will be receiving an invoice via e-mail if any charges are incurred).

I went out to get in the car to take my phone in to get fixed (more on that in a few) and MY CAR WOULDN'T START! Grr... I called mom, and she said she'd come home and let me use her car if it didn't start in a few minutes. Fifteen minutes later I started the car (on the 3rd try), and traded it out with mom's car. I was on my way.

I went to T-mobile in Old Town, and gave the guy my phone. I haven't been able to access the phone book since Friday. At one point I couldn't even turn the phone off. I had taken the battery out then to restart it, and nothing changed. Today, the guy took the battery out while the phone was still on, put it back, turned it on, and VOILA! It works again! I guess now's the time to make sure I have all of my important numbers written in my address book, just in case it happens again.

So here I am with extra time on my hands before class. And yes, I'm wearing an orange t-shirt with a bat on it over a black shirt, black socks with glittery pumpkins, and a beaded bracelet with a ghost charm on it. Happy Halloween!

Oh - and I saw yesterday that Saturday's game against Miami will be at 7:45pm, but today came the best news of all - Gameday will be returning to Blacksburg. Corso, you'd better take a cab from the airport, or else pick Tech to win. We wouldn't want anything to happen to your rental car.

This whole posting during the semester has not been as easy as planned. Not to mention it's been a busy fall.

Two weeks ago Matt and Sarah got married! Hooray!!! I was quite the hit as a groomsman. And I got to take part in the garter toss (no, I actually did not try to catch it.). I'd say the weddding was a success - due mostly to the fact that they ended up married at the end. :-P

Since then, I've been doing school work, and working. The next few weeks will be very busy.

On Friday I met Katie and Amy (another of her bridesmaids) at David's Bridal to try on the dress. It's really pretty, though I'm going to have to make sure that I'm tan when I wear it. It's "buttercup," which is a very pretty yellow (in fact, close to the color of my room). Unfortunately my pale European skin color doesn't make it look too nice. Thank goodness for fake tan. I'll be practicing throughout the winter - in case you see me looking streaky, you'll know what's up.

This Thursday VT plays BC at home. And I'm going - even though I have no time. I have other things to do in Bburg, so I can at least justify the trip. Not to mention that Leslie will not be going (silly teachers - not being able to take off weekdays :-P). I thought it would suck for Jenny if neither of us was there.

Anyhow, on Friday evening and all day Saturday I have a weekend class. With homework due. Aarrgghh!!!!

Saturday night is my first adult Halloween party - complete with costumes. I'll be going as Richard Simmons. It was a big hit the first time I wore it, and it's comfortable. That night is also Daylight Savings. Thank goodness.

Sunday it's homework all day, followed by Monday - class with all kinds of work due.

Soon enough I'll be able to catch up on my missed tv, and relax a little.

I've been meaning to post since the first home game in Blacksburg (yeah right... I know). No really, I have. I even have a cool picture I was gonna put un here. A few even.

Unfortunately, this is the first chance I've had to post in a while. My professor is going to be late for class, so I need to do something, right?

A brief recap of recent events:
Jenny and I went to Tech's first home game during the weekend of September 17. The new part of the stadium looks amazing (though I'm not sure if I appreciate it very much without the "Home of the Fighting Gobblers" on the front). It's great because it makes Lane Stadium even louder. We won. :-)

I hadn't been feeling well before the game, and I think all of my screaming did me in. I got very sick with what I thought was another sinus infection. I missed two days of work (without pay :-(), and finally got to the ENT. He put me on antibiotics and a different nose spray and sent me to get a new CT scan. After a week I wasn't feeling any better and the CT showed that I am not really having problems with sinusitis - so the doctor sprayed a topical decongestant into my nose. Minutes later, everything was draining from my sinuses, and all the pain that I'd been feeling for weeks went away. Just like that. Apparently my problems stem from my allergies. So I'm taking a decongestant twice a day and nasal spray once a day. No problems since. The next doctor's visit will be with an allergist.

The weekend of the 24th, we were back down for the game and band alumni weekend! Woo hoo!!!!!! For some reason or another, VT didn't ask the band to participate in this year's Homecoming, and therefore we had band day. Against GA Tech, Lane Stadium was louder than I've ever heard before. And Leslie and I were doing our part (though Leslie was voiceless this game - so Jenny stepped up, stopped laughing at us, and joined in with the craziness). Leslie and I have been dubbed "the band girls" by one of the guys sitting behind us. I have a feeling that he's a little drunk sometimes - maybe he's just weird.
Unfortunately we didn't get to Gameday - I'm glad I Tivoed it and got to see the signs with such classic phrases as "I'd rather have two Vicks than one Ball" and "Corso, why do you hate us?" I did, however, get to see Matt and Dave (as well as Kristen, Sarah, Marie, and KK).

This past weekend, I went with the family down to Blackburg for my grandfather's memorial service and burial. The other grandmother came down with us, and two of mom's cousins from Maine (who I haven't seen in about 8-9 years) also made the trip. I love my mom's side of the family. I haven't seen them in ages, but they are so nice, so fun, and their accents make everything even more fun. :-P
The memorial service was very nice. The pastor didn't know my grandfather, but after talking to family members and his friends, he sure did a good job at faking it. Unfortunately we went straight out of the funeral home to the cemetary, and we couldn't stop to talk with all of the people who came - and indeed didn't even know who all was there until we were looking at the guest book afterward.
Lauren brought me the shawl that she knitted for me to wear after the wedding. It's beautiful - very elegant. I'm sure she'll post the pic of it at her crafty blog ().

I got to show off VT to my step cousin and her boyfriend, and I got to show Lauren and Matt the new stadium expansion. I sure miss Blacksburg. And of course, no family trip to Blacksburg would be complete without grilling meat.

Last night when I got home, it was straight to writing. I had a takehome essay test (due today) that I finished at 10:39 pm. The first essay I was happy with - the second kinda rambled on. Oh well. He said he'd give them back if we totally blew it. :-)

And this coming weekend, it's down to Chesterfield for Sarah and Matt's wedding!! Hooray!
