Apparently, when working for "The Man," there is a procedural memo for everything. Today we got our reminder about holiday decorations - what's appropriate for display in county government buildings. Here's the scoop:
"It is permissible for County agencies to display, in public access areas and on the grounds of general County government facilities, secular holiday symbols such as Christmas trees, Santa Claus, wreaths, garlands, snowmen, signs stating 'Happy Holiday,' 'Season’s Greetings,' etc., lights, bells, and similar decorations with non-religious themes.
If it is desired to include, in a County holiday display in a public access area, some recognition of the religious aspects of Christmas, Chanukah or some other religious celebration, the agency sponsoring the display shall first obtain an opinion from the County Attorney as to the legality of such display.
Religious carols, hymns, etc. shall not be played in conjunction with any County agency display."

I knew I worked at a winery for some reason - aside from the fact that it's fun, I get to bring free wine home, and I get paid to drink. This past Saturday, I was at the winery and a young man came in asking if we could accomodate a party of 8.
We set up in our second room to allow for them to have a little extra space while tasting, and to allow other visitors to have elbow room as well. As we were waiting for the rest of the group to come in, I started the tasting with the 4 who were there. One of the girls who walked in late looked like Jenna Bush. I thought that I was surely mistaken, even though one of the young men was giving me this knowing look and nodding slighlty (after, I decided he must be Secret Service). I confirmed that it was Jenna when the last member of the party walked in - it was Barbara Bush (the junior).
The girls were very nice, and lived up to the hype. Jenna was very outgoing, and seems to like having a good time. Barbara is quiet and reserved, though I was a bit surprised by her bloodshot eyes (that calmed down with more drinking).
One of the gentlemen with the group was Jenna's fiance, Henry Hager. He seems to be as much a partier as Jenna is rumored to be, and as they were leaving, he shook my hand, thanked me, and told me that I have a beautiful vineyard. He is definitely of a politicing family, and definitely not someone that I would ever be attracted to.
